FK8 Carbon V2 MAF Tube and Silicon Intake Kit made by Eventuri and specifically for the Honda FK8 Civic

Introducing a world first: an all-carbon FK8 turbo inlet pipe. We’ve invested months of intense research and development into developing an inlet that leaves no room for compromise. VOLUME – FLOW QUALITY – TEMPERATURE are the three main design criteria we strived to meet.

1) VOLUME: Inlet Diameters – Eventuri 78mm: Stock 63mm. By maintaining the MAF section diameter from the intake to the turbo pipe, we’ve increased the cross-sectional area by over 53% for the majority of the intake flow path to the turbo. Clearly, with significantly larger internal diameters, the Eventuri pipe encapsulates a much larger internal volume that limits the flow path to the turbo. This allows the turbo to operate more efficiently and reach maximum boost levels faster. It also allows the turbo to operate at maximum power with less turbine load.

2) FLOW QUALITY: Having a large internal volume alone isn’t good unless the flow path also allows for uniform airflow to the turbo. By using high-temperature prepreg carbon fiber, we were able to achieve a smooth internal surface. In contrast, the stock inlet pipe is made of cast aluminum that ends in a rough internal surface. This, combined with the uniform curvature of the elbow, results in a flow path that minimizes turbulence.

3) TEMPERATURE: The final criterion was to minimize heat conduction into the airflow. The stock inlet is directly connected to the turbo and therefore conducts heat immediately as the turbo spools. Our system uses a machined flange that connects to the turbo and then a silicon coupler with an integrated thermal spacer to prevent the carbon elbow from making direct contact with the turbo. This barrier, combined with the low thermal conductivity through the thickness of the carbon fiber, reduces heat transfer to the airflow.
